How to Erase a CD-RW

Erase a CD-RW
Erasing CD-RW discs (CD rewritable discs) is very easy - all you need is a CD recorder that supports CD-RW discs!
Follow these few easy steps to erase your CD-RW:
  1. Step 1
    Insert the CD-RW disc that you want to erase.

  2. Step 2
    Depending on your operating system, the steps that you need to follow differ slightly.

    For Mac OS users:

    Open Disk Utility (you can find it in Applications/Utilities)

    For MS Windows users:

    Double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop. When it opens, right- click on the CD recording drive and click Open.
  3. Step 3
    For Mac OS users:

    Click the Erase tab.

    For MS Windows users:

    Click Erase this CD-RW - the Welcome to the CD Writing Wizard box will be displayed.
  4. Step 4
    For Mac OS users:

    Select the CD-RW disk that you want to erase from the list of drives that you can see on the left.

    For MS Windows users:

    Click Next, then the erasing process is going to begin.
  5. Step 5
    For Mac OS users:

    Click Erase.

    For MS Windows users:

    When the CD-RW disk is erased, a message will pop up saying that you can use your CD-RW disk now.
  6. Step 6
    Your CD-RW disc is now empty and you can re-use it.
